MoonBots 2014 Registration Opens Soon


The 2014 MoonBots challenge will be open for registration on or about March 15, 2014.

This free, online, global competition for ages 9 to 17 is an exciting two-phase competition take place from March to August. Preview this year's robot missions from "MoonBots-in-A-Box" at your local science centers or on the MoonBots Facebook.

Submissions and the final live webcasts for MoonBots 2012 have been concluded, we have seen many amazing designs and ideas.  Judging of the robot missions, lunar landscape, and the STEM outreach presentation are underway.

30 Moonbots 2012 teams were selected to compete in phase 2 of the competition, it is now their goal to build their ultimate lunar landscape.
First we want to point out that the official rules have changed slightly, so download them again and read chapter 15 and onwards carefully before you start building.

MoonBots Registration Closes, Judging Begins


Registration for the 2012 MoonBots competition closed last Friday, July 18th. A total of 147 teams from 22 countries around the world submitted entries and are waiting to find out if they’ve made it to the second round.

Playa Vista, CA (May 15, 2012) – The X PRIZE Foundation and the LEGO Group today announced MoonBots 2012: A Google Lunar X PRIZE LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Challenge. This third annual contest will challenge teams of youth to study the history of heritage artifacts left on the Moon, while also getting an opportunity to learn about the new and exciting things that private industry and government are doing in the arena of space exploration, including the $30 million dollar Google Lunar X PRIZE.
